Assignment 3A Your entrepreneurship story

In all honesty, I haven't had much experience with entrepreneurship within my life. The only thing that I can really think of is that I used to try to come up with the next great idea and become an entrepreneur by selling that great invention that I came up with. For me this was always hard though, as it is so hard to come up with something that is effective and hasn't already been thought of yet. I also always struggled with thinking about even if I was able to think of a great idea, I would have no idea how to make the invention myself or how to get it copyrighted.

I enrolled in ENT3003 because I needed an upper division elective and thought to myself, why not take a class on entrepreneurship just in case I do ever think of a great new idea and want to know how to put that idea into action. So, what I hope to get out of this class is to know how to become an entrepreneur technically, as in what legal steps need to be taken.

  1. Graham,
i'm pretty much in the same situation as you when it comes to my entrepreneurial experience. I have always thought hard to try to think of an invention or idea as well but I think this class will make us realize that entrepreneurship isn't always about new ideas; it's about executing already established ideas. I also took this class because I needed an elective but am very excited because I already think Dr. Pryor's lectures are very interesting

  2. Hi Graham,
I am in the same boat as you, for I have not experienced my own personal story of entrepreneurship. Successful entrepreneurs do come up with innovative ideas and are creative in a sense that their service or product is unique in its own way. Coming up with an "invention" does take patience and is challenging. It is great that you took this course in order to learn how to approach entrepreneurship for your potential future encounters.

  3. Graham,
Overall I think you have a great post here. It's definitely hard to create the next big product but I guess if it was easy everyone would do it. I'm in the same boat when it comes to needing an upper division elective, and it's always beneficial to learn more skills. Should be an interesting class.
